Set up WebDAV for Windows

Connect MyDrive directly to your computer.

Windows Explorer

  1. Open your Windows Explorer and click on This PC on the left.
  2. Go to Map network drive in the top menu bar.
  3. Select the drive letter you want to use, e.g. M:
  4. Enter the following as the folder path:
    With Server location Switzerland: https://mydrive.ch/webdav.php
    With Server location EU: https://eu.mydrive.ch/webdav.php
  5. Enter your MyDrive Access data in the login window.

Attention:

  • WebDAV allows only one connection per computer.
  • Windows only allows a maximum path length of 256 characters e.g. C:/Folder1/.../Folder12/filename.txt
  • Users need full access to folders to upload files.

Prevent WebDAV from asking for the password after restarting the computer:

  1. Open the following path via Windows Explorer: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
  2. Create an empty text file here with the name: mydrive.cmd
  3. Edit this file and add the following content:
With Server location Switzerland: net use M: https://mydrive.ch/webdav.php /savecred
With Server location EU: net use M: https://eu.mydrive.ch/webdav.php /savecred
(Instead of the drive letter M: use the letter you are using)

Prevent protected view after opening a document via WebDAV:

  1. Open a document, e.g. Excel
  2. Click on File at the top left > Options at the bottom > Trust Center on the left
  3. Click the “Trust Center settings” button > Protected view
  4. Uncheck "Enable protected view for files from the Internet"

Repeat this process once for each file type in Office
